Microbusinesses are currently the fastest growing segment of the business population. While these tiny firms are often dismissed as economically insignificant, their numbers are growing at a rate of approximately 5-7% per year and they currently account for 12% of GDP. And they make up more than 90% of all U.S. firms.
At MRI, our job is to help our corporate and public sector clients better understand this enormous but elusive market. Through an extensive network of microbusiness advocates, researchers, and economics professionals, MRI will document the demographics, business structures and models, political affiliations and policy needs of microbusinesses, in addition to a variety of industry-specific information, to develop a detailed picture of America's microbusinesses.
